11. Confusion and Memory Problems (Hypoxia-Related Encephalopathy)
Why it happens: Low oxygen and high carbon dioxide impair brain function.
How it feels: Patients may appear forgetful, confused, irritable, or drowsy. In severe cases, coma may occur.
Medical Tests:
- ABG: Confirms low PaO₂, high PaCO₂.
- Neurological Exam: Assesses cognitive function.
- MRI/CT Brain: If confusion persists.
