8. Chest Pain or Tightness
Why it happens: Lung inflammation, infections, pulmonary embolism, or high lung pressure (pulmonary hypertension) can cause chest pain.
How it feels: Pain may be sharp (pleuritic pain, worse with deep breaths) or dull pressure. Patients may mistake it for heart problems.
Medical Tests:
- Chest X-ray / CT Angiography: Detects clots or fluid.
- ECG + Echocardiogram: Rules out heart involvement.
- Blood D-dimer Test: Screens for pulmonary embolism.
